There was a Christian writer who came to my university who had written a book on sex. She made a point in her book that it was a myth that women don’t have a strong sex drive. She shared this idea with a large group of Christian counselors and all of the liberal Christian ones strongly agreed with her. However, there were a few counselors who said they didn’t know where she was coming from, because sexual imbalances in the marriage (ie: man always wants more sex) was all that they dealt with. Every single counselor who said that was from a more fundamentalist sect of Christianity.

I know studies have hinted at this, but I do not know if there have been any done that specifically look at religion and the female sex drive. For me personally it wouldn’t help much, because most women I’ve dated or have been close friends with have had strong sex drives.

Lots of women have strong sex drives, some do not. In either case, only rarely does a woman have a stronger sex drive than a man. But it may be the wrong question. Maybe men and women have similar strengths of sex drives, but men need less to turn it on.

What a subtle way to brag, you [sciency] beast. Actually that’s true for me too though.

I think we men are unlikely to pursue a long-term relationship with a woman who has a weak sex drive! That’s a recipe for breakup or infidelity.

Ah, the joys of homosexual relationships, none of this “in the mood” business. Well, it still exists, but it’s less likely.
