by Luke Muehlhauser on October 13, 2010 in Podcast

(Listen to other episodes of Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot here.)

Today I interview Dr. Wynne LeGrow, who is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 4th district, running against incumbent Randy Forbes. Dr. LeGrow is an atheist, and Randy Forbes is one of the most vocal religionists in Congress.

I enjoyed the interview. He seems like a smart guy that wants to help people. He is also scientifically literate, which is a rarity.

Interesting interview. American politics is almost always more interesting than Canadian politics.

Religion plays much less of a role in elections here. I know that our current prime minister (Stephen Harper) is a Christian, but to be honest, I’m not aware of the religious affiliations of any of the other major party leaders. I find that quite refreshing. But of course, “atheist vs. Christian” certainly makes for a more interesting political match-up. All the best to LeGrow.

I would vote for him if I lived in Virginia for sure.

Randy Forbes is bat-shit crazy.
