I just had an inner witness of Optimus Prime.

My belief in him is properly basic.

Jesus v Cthulhu

Current condition

Jesus: In heaven, so, dead, I guess?

Cthulhu: Dream filled slumber.

Wants

Jesus: Your soul.

Cthulhu: Your soul.

When he returns, he will

Jesus: Destroy world.

Cthulhu: Destroy world.

When he returns, he will reward his followers by

Jesus: Kill them first so they don’t have to witness destruction of world.

Cthulhu: Kill them first so they don’t have to witness destruction of world.

His followers

Jesus: Try to hasten the end of the world with prayer, ritualistic practices, and intervention in world politics.

Cthulhu: Try to hasten the end of the world with prayer and ritualistic practices.

Worship him by

Jesus: Glossolalia

Cthulhu: TAULYWATH YNAFRLTHA’FDA WECN’CLUH GTALATHETRF

Bossmanham, the John quote really isn’t inspirational or effective towards non-Christians. It is a bit creepy, though.

It is entirely right, rational, reasonable, and proper to believe in Optimus Prime without any evidence or argument at all.

Oh that is just excellent. Optimus Prime obviously would completely own Jesus.

I agree that belief in Optimus Prime is properly basic.

If Optimus Prime existed, he would broadcast his identity into our cognitive faculties, and we would know, without justification, that HE IS.

Ergo, we do not need evidence to have rational belief in Optimus Prime. I call this Optimal Epistemology. Oh wait.

As a wonderfully empathetic atheist, I disavow all and any who harshly criticize Optimus Prime. We should set a friendly tone for the discussion.

Besides, most critics of the existence of Optimus Prime have never even read (or heard of!) the most sophisticated work on his Matrix of Leadership. Ergo, I am a better atheist than you nyaah.

HA!

If somebody argues that Prime-based morality is false because Optimus Prime does not actually exist, I am going to complain that they haven’t first provided any arguments against the existence of Optimus Prime.

(cl, that one’s for you!)

Cl, do you see any faults in the logic of the situation Luke presented? If you do, can you point out where they are?

Cl, additionally, MichaelPJ has responded thoughtfully and in detail to you in another thread. He has also posed a couple questions. As it has been a few days, his reply may have escaped your notice; http://commonsenseatheism.com/?p=11245
