Slowed Posting

by Luke Muehlhauser on April 28, 2011 in News

One of my readers’ favorite things about this blog is its daily posting of new content.

I was able to keep that up much longer than I had though I would be able to, but I can’t keep it up any longer.

I don’t get paid for this, and I’ve never put advertising on the site. Now my other engagements require that I post much less regularly here.

Morality in the Real World will continue. Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot will return. I’ll still publish posts, but not every day.

In the meantime, you may want to check out some of the highlights from this site’s history.

In other news, these things are supercool.

Solution: separate post for each Twitter link.

RSS feeds are wonderful. Instead of checking every day for new content, it lets me know when there’s been an update.

Also, plz tweet new updates you do here & LW.

Garren,

Heh. I don’t want this to become entirely a link blog.

Luke,

Why not finish some of the series you’ve started? Your how-to guides, Reading through that book The Testament, mapping Kalam, etc. Or are those just done?

Wow Luke, I wish you good luck with the Mini-camp on Rationality.

Does LW have a rule against posting in two locations? (don’t think it does) If it does not , then why not just post at both sources? Unless your LW posts dominate your CSA only posts in number, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal I would think.

Luke,
What was up with Alonzo’s post earlier today?

I’ve never put advertising on the site.

Why?

BoringGuy,

The problem is not a lack of material, for sure. I just don’t have time for those anymore.

john_s,

That was a scheduled template post I was supposed to fill in with Alonzo’s actual post, but then Alonzo couldn’t do one this week and I forgot to cancel the scheduled post. So it went up automatically at 4am until I noticed it and killed it.

Ryan:
Posting identical content in two locations has a negative impact on PageRank.

Luke:
I look forward to the rest of No-Nonsense Metaethics. Good luck.

Thank you, Lukester. It has been real, naturally real.

You’ve amassed a great library of content here that hopefully will live on, even if new posts only dribble in.

I find LW kinda churchish, cultish, and nutty – but I will follow your posts there.

My feeling is the exact opposite, lack of sarcasm and mockery and honest engagement with new users and opinions seem to be the hallmarks of LW. Although Luke has identified some important weaknesses with lack of scholarship, I feel, being the greatest.

But maybe I’ve been brainwashed :)

Luke:

Don’t underestimate the usefulness of link posts, the news bits especially have been a great mix of immediate gratification and intellectual stimulation.

Good luck, Luke.

Keep LW honest. Without your help Eliezer was getting a little too Ayn Rand-ish.
The parallels were frightening.

Daddy-san,

I think Eliezer is a strong libertarian, but I haven’t spoken with him about it. Perhaps I can dissuade him. :)

A month ago? Well, so much for my powers of observation!
