News Bits

I updated the 20 Most Popular Atheism Blogs page again. I’m at #7 now and John Loftus moved up all the way to #4. Also, I added Stupid Evil Bastard to the list. Duh.

My statistics say that some people are still using Microsoft Internet Explorer to view this site. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is awful at rendering my site, but I’m not sure why because – sorry! – I’m not a web coder. I highly recommend people use Google Chrome or another browser instead. It will improve your web experience altogether, not just with Common Sense Atheism.

Matt McCormick has put up a very useful post: Know Your Godless Heathen Positions.

Pat Robertson thinks the Haitian disaster happened because – you guessed it! – Haiti turned away from Jesus:

You know, Christy, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French. Ahhh…you know, Napoleon the Third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the Devil. They said we will serve you if you get us free from the French. True Story. And so the Devil said “Okay, it’s a deal.” and…uh…they kicked the French out. You know, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after the other. Desperately poor. That island of Hispaniola is one island. It’s cut down the middle, on one side is Haiti, on the other side is the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etc. Haiti is in desperate poverty. Same island. Um, they need to have, and we need to pray for them, a great turning to God. And out of this tragedy, I’m optimistic, something good may come.

I love watching the poor girl sitting next to him as she has to pretend she’s not sitting next to a complete nutjob.

Pat is one of the worst. Since Falwell died, he is second only to Fred Phelps.

Napoleon the third had nothing to do with Haiti´s independence. That dude knows nothing about latino american history.
Anyway, This fateful event puts in evidence the flaws of the intelligent design theory. I think….

I really appreciated Juan Cole’s quick takedown of this whole thing.

“Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is awful at rendering my site, but I’m not sure why because – sorry! – I’m not a web coder.”

I know why…because IE is fucking terrible! Lol…I’ll admit that Microsoft has made it much better than it used to be, but they still fail to support some of the most basic web standards that all the other major browsers support. It’s annoying when you’re trying to build a website and have to constantly cater to the lowest common denominator – Internet Explorer. It’s the bane of every web designer’s existence.

Everyone on earth should transfer to another browser. Like Chrome. Or Firefox. Or Opera. Or Safari. Or…take your pick. They’re all better than IE.

/end rant
