dude… of the hundreds of sites I frequent, this one alone seems to cause my browser (IE7 on Windows 7) to be rendered senseless for a good 30-60 seconds after each pageload, sometimes actually causing the browser to crash.

It’s annoying, because – though I’m very much a lurker – I love the articles (and even more so the debates in the comments).

Is this just me, or does anyone else experience this?

Kutuzov,

You’re not the only one. Unfortunately, I have no idea what is causing this. But it only happens in Internet Explorer. I highly recommend upgrading to Google Chrome instead.

But let me try removing the Atheist Blogroll thing and please tell me if that improves things.

Luke,

yup, that’s fixed it.

I don’t mind “upgrading” to another browser, but considering it’s a pretty popular one, you’re always going to get IE users happening across your site.

Keep up the great work,

K

OMG that makes me so happy! Thanks for helping me figure that out. I certainly don’t want to keep out IE users!

Do you pick out these reruns, or is there some algorithm that does it? Unfortunately they don’t show up on my Google reader, I guess because they are not new.

If it wouldn’t take much time, could you update your contents page with links to the mega posts and what at some point you refered to as your “tent pole” posts? Like, I would never be able to find the Bayes mega post if I didn’t recall that it was a Christmas present for us.

Ditto. There were a lot of these megaposts that you started which, even though unfinished, contained quite a lot of useful content.
