John D is summarizing some of Gregory Dawes’ important book Theism and Explanation.

Jordan Howard Sobel, author of Logic and Theism, died recently.

Remember when I posted The Daily Show Makes Dan Barker Look Dumb? Dan Barker explains what happened.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation does a 40-minute radio show, featuring P.Z. Myers and A.C. Grayling and Dan Barker, on the recent Global Atheist Convention. Thankfully, ABC did a good job of interviewing actual atheists rather than only interviewing religious people about atheists.

What the hell? A big scary octopus steals a diver’s camera, so the diver chases the octopus, literally rips the camera from its grip, wrestles himself free from the tentacles, and posts the camera’s video online.

I’ll know I’ve made it when I have one of these.

A recent episode of This American Life features the inside story of a ‘fixer’ for the Catholic Church, who went around replacing monks who were defrocked because of abuse allegations.

Have you read Stephen Law’s Philosophy Gym. I think it’s a pretty good for someone just starting out.

Heh. I can’t help it. I grew up watching ‘Holy Grail’ over and over. I didn’t discover Life of Brian until I was 18 or something.

Geoffrey Berg challenges top academics on the existence of God
I’m sure that their failure to respond will be interpreted as evidence that his arguments are undefeatable.

No position is immune to crankery.

As a big fan of The Daily Show, that article was pretty disillusioning. And I never bought the argument that they don’t need any standards because they are a comedy show, as Dan seems to excuse them. They are a comedy show that has invested in both glass houses and stones.
