I recognized that quote immediately, hearing it in my head in Dara O’Briein’s brilliant voice.

Dara is awesome. I follow him on twitter :D

What kind of Mac are you working with? MacBook. MacBook Pro? iMac, MacPro?

Eneasz June 1, 2010 at 6:53 am

But really – protein shake AND Mac, in the same sentence? A bit gratuitous, no?

Chris June 1, 2010 at 9:05 am

LOL @ what Eneasz said. I was thinking the same thing.

MacBook Pro with the i5 processor.

For some reason the way that sentence came out was funny to me, so I kept it.

here in the UK we tend to arrest men who go around in macs doing “protein shakes”

Dara’s a very funny guy and well known for his pro science stance.

What is a ‘mac’ in that sense? I’m not familiar.

MacBook Pro with the i5 processor.

Ok, and what are we dealing with on the protein shake front? Whey? Egg? Casein? Soy? Complex?

And the brand?

Gold Standard? Pure Protein? Muscle Milk? Bioplex? One of those ones that has a lot of sugar and creatine and stuff mixed in it?

Or did you blow five bucks on those ones that you get at juice bars?

lukeprog June 1, 2010 at 6:58 pm

A bunch of whey powder added to a banana milkshake. Simple and tasty.

This little comedy bit from Dara just calls out for somebody to animate it, like somebody did with Patton Oswalt’s ‘Christmas Shoes’ bit, and probably many others.

Hah, I love this. The full routine he did is here:

It’s excellent all around.

comes from “The man in the dirty mac” – a mac being a macintosh – a brand of raincoat.

( think “flasher” )
