Great interview. It’s been awhile since I’ve last heard Dr. Price speak. He has so many interesting things to say.
Luke, do you think you could get Thom Stark, author of The Human Faces of God, to talk about who Yahweh is according to OT historians? That would be super cool.

Taranu,
Eventually, yes, I’d like to interview Thom Stark.

I love Dr. Price. He reminds me of my uncle that played D & D in the late 70′s/early 80′s.
it makes me happy.

“baggy-pants medicine show frauds” – great description of Craig and his ilk.

Great as usual, Luke. I think you should make Bob a regular on the show.

Bob is freakin awesome. I love his contagious curiousity and wonder at things, but all his no-nonsense approach. He never seems given to bias.

It really is a shame that he is a climate skeptic :(
I hope he has changed his mind about that.

He matches a pattern I’ve seen a lot of- an older guy who feels like he was told about the dangers of a new ice age when he was young, and then had climate scientists flip around and start telling the reverse story when he was older. He concludes from this that climate scientists may not know what they’re talking about.
I don’t know the actual history of how that all went down, since I wasn’t born for most of it. I can just say that there seems to be a whole age cohort who look at things that way.

Robert Price is excellent as usual. His voice reminds me of Lewis Black, but looking up his picture, I’m disappointed to see he looks nothing like Black :(

Love the podcast – but cut the new age music intro man.

Yeah, just piling on the praise here. What you’re doing is just awesome, in the true meaning of that word.
I have a suggestion, although slightly to the side of philosophy itself, and into the realm of biology and homosexuality. A few years ago there was an exhibition about homosexuality in nature (in Oslo, Norway, and later traveled to Sydney, Australia) that made quite a stir (world-wide in the news), and the exhibition was curated by my friend biologist Petter Bøckman. A juxtaposition on this topic and the religious mostly-unanimous condemnation of it would be a fascinating addition to the series.
